The Excel update you've been asking about...

Plus, why good things really do come to those who wait

In partnership with

Hey there, it's Ren here...

You know that feeling when you're waiting for your favorite restaurant to open a new location closer to you?

You keep checking their website, maybe even driving by the empty storefront just to see if there's any progress?

That's kind of how I've been feeling about something we've been working on behind the scenes...

But first, let me share a little story about patience that completely changed how I think about money (and life).

Former PepsiCo Exec Invented A Plastic That Dissolves in Water

If anyone knows a thing about plastic’s impact on the planet, it’s Manuel Rendon. The former PepsiCo executive and environmental engineer is using his 20 years of expertise to solve one of the world’s biggest problems with Timeplast.

Up to 450 million metric tons of plastic are wasted each year. Microplastics seep into our bodies, and mountains of bottles pile up in the ocean. But Timeplast has patented a water-soluble, time-programmable plastic that vanishes without harming the environment.

Major players are already partnering with Timeplast for its patented technology—their sales grew 6,000% in the first month.

You have just a few days left to invest as Timeplast scales in its $1.3T plastic market, from packaging to 3D printing. Become a Timeplast shareholder by midnight, 7/31.

🎯 When Good Things Take Time

So here's what happened…

Last month, my husband and I were at our favorite nursery picking out ‘should get’ plants for our future New Zealand home garden (yes, I'm already planning even though we're not there yet!).

The nursery owner, this wise older gentleman, showed us two identical-looking fruit trees. One was $25, the other was $85.

"What's the difference?" I asked, expecting some fancy variety explanation.

"Three years," he said simply. "This one," pointing to the expensive tree, "will fruit next season. The younger one? You'll wait three to four years."

And that's when it hit me - sometimes paying for patience makes sense, but sometimes the waiting itself is part of the value.

💡 The Excel Evolution (Yes, It's Happening!)

Speaking of patience... remember how many of you have been asking about Excel versions of our budgeting tools?

raises hand I see you! Your messages haven't gone unnoticed!

Here's the thing - we could have rushed out a quick conversion, slapped it together, and called it done. But that's not how we roll at JREN Digital.

You see, what started as a "simple" conversion project turned into something much bigger. We realized that just converting formats wasn't enough. We wanted to make sure every formula, every feature, every little detail that makes our Ultimate Budget 3.0 special translates perfectly.

The reality? It's been like trying to translate poetry from one language to another - you don't just want the words to match, you want the feeling to be the same.

Something To Ponder….

"Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting."

Joyce Meyer

Behind the Scenes Update

Without getting too technical (because honestly, even I started glazing over), here's what we've discovered:

  • Some features that work beautifully in one format need complete reimagining in another

  • Color schemes that pop in one platform look different elsewhere

  • Formulas that sing in one system need a whole new tune in another

It's been... an adventure!

But here's the exciting part - we're getting close. Really close. Like "I can almost taste that cake at the finish line" close.

Why This Relates to Your Money Journey

You know what's funny? This whole Excel conversion journey has reminded me of something crucial about financial success...

The Instant Gratification Trap Just like how we could have rushed out a mediocre Excel version, it's tempting to look for quick fixes in our finances:

  • Get-rich-quick schemes

  • Impulse purchases that provide temporary satisfaction

  • Skipping the foundation to chase the shiny object

The Power of Patient Progress But real financial success? It's more like:

  • Building that emergency fund $50 at a time

  • Watching compound interest work its slow magic

  • Perfecting your budget system until it runs like clockwork

🎯 Patience Lessons from the Budget Journey

1. Good Systems Take Time to Build Remember when you first started budgeting? It probably felt clunky and awkward. But now? You've got your rhythm. Same principle applies to everything worthwhile.

2. Quality Over Speed Sure, we could give you something now that's "okay." But wouldn't you rather have something excellent that truly serves you for years to come?

3. The Compound Effect of Patience Just like interest compounds, so does the value of doing things right the first time. Every extra hour we spend perfecting this Excel version is an hour saved for thousands of users down the line.

💪 Your Patience Action Plan

While you're waiting for the Excel magic to happen, here's how to apply patience to your finances:

This Week:

  • Resist one impulse purchase by waiting 48 hours

  • Review your budget without making dramatic changes

  • Celebrate one small financial win from being patient

This Month:

  • Track how much you save by simply waiting before buying

  • Notice which financial goals are progressing slowly but surely

  • Practice saying "not yet" instead of "no" to things you want

This Quarter:

  • Watch how your patient investments grow

  • See the results of consistent, patient budgeting

  • Celebrate the boring success of steady progress

💭 Final Thoughts

You know what I love most about our community?

You get it. You understand that good things…whether it's building wealth, creating the perfect budget system, or yes, converting to Excel, take time.

Your patience and enthusiasm keep me going during those late nights when I’m testing formulas for the elevnty hundredth time. Your feedback makes me want to create something truly special, not just "good enough."

So thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for trusting the process.

..And thank you for being part of this journey.

The Excel version is coming, and trust me, it's going to be worth the wait.

Just like that more expensive fruit tree, sometimes the best things in life come to those who wait (but actively prepare while waiting!).

To your success (and patience!),

Ren
