Hey, it's Ren here!

I've been putting this one off for about three weeks now.

Three years ago I sent the very first Budget & Balance email. I had no clue what I was doing (arguably still don't on a Tuesday) and I think about 40 people received it. Two of them were probably me.

Now there's nearly 7,000 of you (used to be nearly 15k of you, but let’s just say we all shrink a bit with age)

And this is the last one.

Nothing dramatic has happened. Here's the boring, honest version: the newsletter costs more to run than it brings in, and after three years of trying pretty much every angle I could think of, I finally had to make the call I'd been dodging.

Business brain says it's just numbers.

Human brain has been sulking about it in a corner for a fortnight.

But before I go, a few things.

I have read every single reply. All of them. The person who told me they'd paid off $40k. The woman who wrote to say she'd stopped hiding bank statements from her husband. The bloke who very politely told me my analogy about tangled headphones was "a bit of a stretch, Ren."

(He was right.)

You've watched me plan a wedding in Bali, drag my parents on a cruise to Japan, and bang on relentlessly about the 6 chickens, 2 dogs and a capybara I wanted one day. Well, we made it to New Zealand. The chickens are still theoretical. The capybara remains a hard no from the Ministry for Primary Industries, which my husband has taken personally.

None of that happens without the thing I've been nagging you about for three years, which is just knowing where your money actually goes.

So what now?

You're not being deleted or dumped anywhere.

I'll still be emailing, just from the store side and a whole lot less often. New templates, the occasional thing I think is genuinely worth your time, no weekly obligation on either of us. If that's not for you, the unsubscribe link is right down the bottom. No hard feelings, truly.

Before I go, here's everything, one last time

Three years of building things means there's a fair pile of them now. So instead of pushing one at you, here's the lot. Find the one that sounds like you.

If you just want to know where your money goes → the Ultimate Budget is the one people buy most, and the one I'd start with if I were you.

If debt is the thing keeping you up at night → the Debt Snowball & Avalanche Tracker. Plug in your numbers and it shows you the payoff date. Weirdly motivating.

If your income is different every month → the Biweekly Paycheck budget. Freelancers, this one's yours

If you're a bookworm → the Book Tracker. Nothing to do with budgeting. I made it because I wanted one.

If you want the whole lot → the Ultimate Life Organizer & Budget Bundle rolls it all together, and comes in a few colours now.

Oh, and if you’re getting married anytime soon → the Wedding Budget with seating plans and canva templates included is exactly what you need

Lastly, you can grab our simple, one tab budget as well!

Everything's 40% off for the next 14 days with code: code4

Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me and I wish you all the best with your budgeting.

Cheers,
Ren
